Without question, the single most often ask question about our business, is "who is Alexander Talbott." It is also my favorite question to answer and the piece of information I enjoy sharing most about our Company and its heritage.

My roots are from a small Indiana town, known as Paragon. This little burg of about 500 people is tucked away about equal distance between Indianapolis and Bloomington. Most of the residence of our town worked in one of those other two cites, and the remainder likely made their living in farming and agricultural work.

It was in this small community that my Grandfather, Clarence Alexander began a number of local business ventures. He was a grocer, a restaurateur, an inventor, an appliance and TV repairman, and a civic and community leader. My Grandmother, June 'Talbott' Alexander, help to manage both the restaurant and grocery store, and was also a community leader, church leader, and friend to all.

It was in this environment that I had the opportunity to observe my Grandparents and their value systems for the way they treated customers, employees, vendors, neighbors, and even strangers.

In the way they lived their lives they exemplified the traditions of hard work, integrity, honesty, humility, and service. Their goodness and decency was a characteristic recognized by all who knew them and came in contact with them.

It is these same virtues that we embrace at Alexander Talbott and wish to cause everyone who comes in contact with our Company to experience.

So the answer to the most often asked question is simple. Our business is named in honor of and in tribute to Clarence Ivan 'Alexander,' and June 'Talbott' Alexander. The names behind our name; Alexander Talbott.
